Next, visit the archaeological site and local market of Pisac. Admire its extensive agricultural terraces and stroll through the colorful handicraft market.
At midday, enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba, and then continue to explore the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.

Once past the entrance checkpoint, head straight to the Guardhouse viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the entire citadel. Recommendations
-
- Book your tour months in advance, especially if you plan to travel between May and September (high season), as tickets to Machu Picchu and train services sell out quickly.
- Make sure your flight arrives in Cusco before 11:00 a.m. on the first day of your itinerary.
- Please inform us in advance of any delays or travel issues so we can adjust the logistics accordingly.
- Before and upon arrival in Cusco, take altitude sickness pills (soroche). At your hotel, drink coca leaf tea, which helps with acclimatization and reduces symptoms such as headache, dizziness, or nausea.
- Avoid coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes, as they interfere with proper oxygen absorption.
- In Cusco, especially early in the morning and at night, wear warm clothing. This is particularly important for high-altitude or full-day tours.
- We recommend visiting in this order: Cusco → Sacred Valley → Machu Picchu → High-altitude tours (like Rainbow Mountain or Humantay Lake).
- For your train journey to Machu Picchu, leave heavy luggage at your hotel in Cusco. The train company only allows small personal baggage. If you need to travel with larger bags, you’ll have to pay an extra fee and arrange shipment via cargo train, which is a longer and more complex process.
