Recommendations
- Book the Machu Picchu 3-day tour at least three months in advance, especially if you plan to travel between May and September, which is high season. During this period, Machu Picchu and train tickets tend to sell out quickly.
- On the first day, make sure your flight arrives at Cusco airport before 11:00 AM.
- Please inform us if you experience any delays or issues upon your arrival in Cusco.
- Before and after arriving in Cusco, take altitude sickness pills (soroche). At your hotel in Cusco, drink coca leaf tea – it will help you acclimate better and reduce symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Avoid coffee, alcoholic beverages, and cigarettes, as they hinder proper oxygen absorption.
- In Cusco, wear warm clothing during the early morning and at night, especially on the second day of the itinerary.
- For the train journey to Machu Picchu, leave your heavy luggage at your hotel in Cusco. The train company only allows personal luggage. If you wish to travel with heavy baggage, you will need to pay an additional fee to the railway company and go through a lengthy process to send it via cargo train.
