Itinerary Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu – 3 Days
Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Pucamarca – Huchuy Qosqo
Starting altitude: 3,800 m
Maximum altitude: 4,300 m (Pucamarca Pass)
Distance: Approx. 12 km
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
We begin with pickup from your hotel and a short drive to Tambomachay, located on the outskirts of Cusco. The trek begins with an ascent to Pucamarca Pass, offering stunning panoramic views of the Andean highlands and snow-capped peaks.
We descend to the charming village of Pucamarca, then follow an ancient Inca trail and a stone bridge toward the impressive archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, featuring terraces, ceremonial buildings, and views over the Sacred Valley.
Overnight camp next to the archaeological site.

Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
Lowest altitude: 2,800 m
Hiking time: 2–3 hours
Transport + train time: Approx. 3 hours
After breakfast, we enjoy a guided tour of Huchuy Qosqo, then descend to the town of Lamay in the Sacred Valley. From there, we transfer by vehicle to Ollantaytambo, where we board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town).
Overnight stay in hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 3: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
