Itinerary Choquequirao Trek – 4 Days
Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Chiquisca – Santa Rosa
Starting altitude: 3,200 m (Cusco)
Lowest point: 1,500 m (Apurímac Canyon)
Camping altitude: 1,900 m (Santa Rosa)
Distance: Approx. 15 km
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
We’ll pick you up early from your hotel and drive for about 4 hours to Capuliyoc Viewpoint, where the trek begins. From here, we descend into the deep Apurímac Canyon, enjoying spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and the winding river below.
We stop for lunch in Chiquisca, then continue with an uphill section to reach our first campsite at Santa Rosa.
Day 2: Santa Rosa – Marampata – Choquequirao
Maximum altitude: 3,050 m (Choquequirao)
Distance: Approx. 12 km
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
After breakfast, we continue our ascent toward the village of Marampata (2,900 m), where we’ll enjoy lunch with panoramic views of Choquequirao in the distance.
In the afternoon, we hike to the Choquequirao archaeological site, one of the most important Inca cities of the Tahuantinsuyo. We’ll explore ceremonial plazas, terraces, temples, and structures surrounded by cloud forest.

Day 3: Choquequirao – Marampata – Chiquisca
Minimum altitude: 1,800 m
Distance: Approx. 14 km
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
After breakfast, we’ll make a final visit to Choquequirao, then begin the return trek by descending once more to the Apurímac River, followed by a steep climb to the Chiquisca campsite.
Day 4: Chiquisca – Capuliyoc – Cusco
Ending altitude: 3,200 m (Capuliyoc)
Distance: Approx. 8 km
Hiking time: 3–4 hours
After breakfast, we tackle the final uphill section to Capuliyoc, where our private vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Arrival is expected between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
