Starting altitude: 3,200 m (Cusco)
Maximum altitude: 3,800 m (Huacawasi)
Transport time: 3 hours
Hiking time: 4 to 5 hours
We will pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco and drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the Lares Valley, located north of Cusco. Along the way, we’ll enjoy scenic landscapes and make a brief stop in Calca to purchase snacks or water.
We’ll then arrive at the famous Lares Hot Springs (3,250 m), where you can relax in natural mineral-rich pools — a perfect way to prepare for your trek.
After lunch, we begin a moderate uphill hike to the community of Huacawasi, where we’ll spend the first night. Along the way, you’ll see herds of llamas and alpacas and meet Quechua families wearing traditional clothing.
Overnight at the Huacawasi campsite.

Minimum altitude: 3,800 m
Maximum altitude: 4,450 m (Ipsaycocha Pass)

After a hearty breakfast, we begin our ascent to the highest point of the trek: Ipsaycocha Pass (4,450 m). This section is challenging but incredibly rewarding, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks, high-altitude lagoons, and native wildlife such as vizcachas and Andean condors.
We descend to Ipsaycocha Lagoon, where we will enjoy a scenic lunch. Then we continue to the village of Patacancha, known for its traditional Andean weaving and textiles.

After breakfast, we hike toward the village of Willoq, another traditional Quechua community that preserves its ancestral customs. We continue through scenic paths until reaching Pumamarka, and finally, we arrive at Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca towns.
Here, we’ll enjoy lunch and in the afternoon take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town), traveling through the majestic canyon of the Urubamba River.

After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (if booked in advance and subject to availability).
