Recommendations

  • Book your Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu 3-Day Tour two or three months in advance, especially if you plan to hike Huayna Picchu (only 300 entries per day – it sells out quickly). Once Huayna Picchu is fully booked, the Machu Picchu Mountain option (100 entries per day) also begins to sell out. We highly recommend booking several months ahead of time.
  • Ensure your flight arrives in Cusco before 11:00 a.m.
  • Notify us in case of any delay or change in your arrival time.
  • Before and upon arrival in Cusco, take altitude sickness pills. Coca leaf tea (available in hotels) also helps with acclimatization and can reduce discomfort such as headaches, dizziness, and nausea.
  • Avoid coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes, as they hinder proper oxygen absorption.
  • In Cusco, especially in the early mornings and at night, wear warm clothing – particularly on Day 2 of your itinerary.
  • For the train journey to Machu Picchu, leave heavy luggage at your hotel in Cusco. The train company allows only personal items. If you wish to travel with larger luggage, you’ll need to pay an additional fee and go through a lengthy cargo process.
